Energetic Hygiene

In Pranic Healing, when we talk about 'hygeine' this includes physical hygiene, etheric hygiene, emotional hygiene, and mental hygiene. As pranic healing acknowledges that dis-ease is caused by old, diseased or used up energy in the body and aura, it is essential to look at energetic hygeine to maximize the healing effect and minimize cross-contamination between healer-patient, and also patient and their environment.

Physical Hygeine

This includes:

Proper diet - Eating a diet full of high nutrient foods that contain high amounts of healthy prana, as well as limiting or avoiding foods that contain dirty prana. Fresh fruits and vegetables not only contain nutrients but are clairvoyantly seen and bright and luminous.

Physical exercise - When we exercise the phsyical body we stimulte the flow of prana around the body; old energy is detoxed out and fresh prana is drawn in to keep the aura and chakras bright and healthy. Small amounts of regular exercise help keep the system full of new and healthy energy.

and proper breathing.

Proper breathing - As babies we breathe properly; abdominally. As we get older we learn to breathe shallow and up in the chest. Try this exercise: place your hand around your navel. When you breathe in, push your hand out with your belly. When you breathe out, pull your belly and hand back towards your body. By doing abdominal breathing as well as combined with certain other techniques taught in the Pranic healing courses, you will be able to draw in tremendous amounts of prana.

Etheric Hygeine

Certain substances and activities contain energy that can cause the energy body to get sick very easily: these include smoking, habitual alcohol consumption, drug use (especially hallucinogenic drugs) and continually being in energetically stressful environments (hospitals, cemetaries, and so on) or with energetically draining people. Excessive work and excessive fun also come under this category - both must be in moderation. Too much of these activities can cause the healthy prana in your aura and chakras to become diluted with less healthy prana. It is impossible to avoid all negative energies in the modern world, just be aware of the main areas to limit your exposure. Once you learn the 'scanning' technique, you will be able to scan items and locations to see their effect on your energy system!

In the Pranic Healing courses students are taught how to create and use energetic disposal bins, basically an energetic equivalent of a rubbish bin, to dispose of negative energy that has been removed from the aura. This ensures the healer does not absorb any of the old energy nor with the patient re-absorb it.

Emotional & Psychological Hygeine

For the energy body to be healthy we have to watch what it comes in contact with externally. But the same is true for what comes in contact with it internally. it has been said "what comes out of the mouth is more important that what goes in." This is a reference to the need to watch one's thoughts, words and deeds more than what one eats and drinks if one is to keep one's system pure. And this is often much harder!

Emotions such as love, compassion, patience, tolerance, understanding, kindness, courage and enthusiasm must be cultivated every day, and allowing them to replace anger, hatred, fear and pride (to name a few!).

Forgiveness is also a wonderfully powerful excercise as it helps release the energies of the past and move into the present and the future.

The Twin Hearts Meditation is an excellent meditation for activating the heart chakra and tuning into the energies of love and kindness and allowing a person to forgive another and to move on.

In Pranic Healing we say a healer is a vessel for Divine healing energy and healthy Prana; the analogy we use is that a healer is like a sieve and the healer he projects is like clean water. The purity of the water will depend to a degree on the purity of the sieve through which the water passes. It is for this reason that so much emphasis is placed in pranic healing on proper energetic hygeine - It is not a matter of judging energy or saying it is good or bad, it is solely about understanding the laws of energy and healing. Some energy inhibits health while others support health.
